In 2015, the prestigious British newspaper The Times selected Palma de Mallorca as the best place in the world to live using parameters such as quality of life, environment, climate, and the ease of assimilation of citizens. There is no doubt that the entire Balearic Islands is a favorite place to visit for tourists, but at Samaritana Suites we want the archipelago to also be the ideal territory for anyone, which is why we invite you from one of the best hotels in Palma old town to get to know the 4 unmissable coves in Mallorca.
Discover the unmissable coves in Mallorca
Cove of Sa Calobra
There are actually two coves in this cove: Sa Calobra and Torrent de Pareis, which is accessed by going through a cave. The attraction of this place is that to access the beach you have to cross a road that saves a drop of more than 800 meters.
The beaches, located in the Sierra de Tramontana, are flanked by cliffs some 200 meters high that make them a paradise for the senses. An important recommendation, do not to go barefoot, as it is not a sandy environment, but rather gravel coves.
Cala Mitjana
Mitjana is medium, so in Spanish, you can call this enclave Cala Mediana. As in the previous case, this is one of the best coves in Mallorca and is surrounded by high cliffs from which you can see the coast of Menorca.
The highlight of this small beach is its white sand and its turquoise and totally clear waters. To get to it, you have to go to the outskirts of the Cala d’Or urbanization in Felanitx. Its access, yes, is not very well signposted, but the positive thing about this is that it is a place little frequented by tourists.
Cala Mondrago
Another beach that appears as a must-see when visiting Mallorca. This cove is integrated into the Mondragó Natural Park. Next to it are the beaches of S’Amarador and Es Burgit.
In Cala Mondragó the presence of many tourists is common since it is an easily accessible location. On the nearby beach of S’Amarador, there is free parking that facilitates the arrival of bathers. From there you only have to walk for about 15 minutes and reach your destination, a beautiful beach of fine sand surrounded by pine trees and rocks.
Formentor beach
In the north of the island, near the Port of Pollença, Formentor beach is located. It is a sandbank with extremely shallow waters that allow swimming up to half a kilometer offshore from the shore. For this reason, and because of its clear waters, it is one of the best places in Mallorca to practice snorkeling.
The beach, which stretches for a kilometer and a half of very fine white sand, is surrounded by a pine forest and well protected by high mountains. Formentor is divided into three small areas: L’Espigó, La Veranda and Platjamar. Another tip that we throw at you from Samaritana Suites is to see the Mediterranean from the viewpoint of the beach, which reaches an altitude of 232 meters.
There are many more beaches and coves worth visiting in Mallorca: Cala Varques, Cala Es Màrmols, Es Caragol, Es Trenc Beach, Caló des Moro, Cala Agulla or San Vicente beach, among others. But if you really want to enjoy your stay, here is our warning, stay with us because at Samaritana Suites you will enjoy a luxury Majorca holidays with all the comforts.
Our Palma apartments will undoubtedly serve as a base of operations to get to know, from the capital, the best corners of the island, and especially its beaches. With these coves, you will see that it is not necessary to travel to the Caribbean or Southeast Asia to enjoy white sands and turquoise waters!
